Grief is considered a “taboo” topic and should be avoided in conversation. As a result, even fewer people know how to respond to and process grief – both their own and that of others. Grief can be experienced not only after someone’s passing but also can be experienced at diagnosis of MPS for your child. There may be a sense of loss for the life you hoped your child would have.
This webinar hosted by the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association explores what grief is, what can cause it, and how to best respond and process it.
The Canadian MPS Society endeavours to provide resources for grief support which includes celebrating your child’s life and finding ways to tell your child’s story and helping siblings through the grief process. Become a member to access these resources and more.
